T-bone accident sends one driver to hospital

Particulars: A two vehicle collision occurred shortly after 9 AM on Friday morning November 30th, sending one of the operators to a Worcester hospital.
At around 9 AM on November 30th, Dudley Emergency Dispatch received one of several calls for a serious two car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Schofield Avenue and Brandon Road. One of the vehicles, a small commercial truck had struck an SUV broadside, and pushed it onto the front lawn of a nearby three-decker dwelling on Schofield Ave. The SUV stopped short of hitting the house.
Police, Paramedics, and firefighters arrived on scene within minutes to quickly take control of the situation. Out of three people who were involved in the collision, only one required treatment and transport by paramedics from the Dudley Fire Department Ambulance. Police investigated the cause of the crash and directed traffic around the dangerous intersection. Firefighters assessed the vehicles for fluid leaks and electrical hazards, then stood by while the vehicle was recovered by Precision Auto Body.
The operator of the SUV had to be extricated from her vehicle by the Dudley Fire Department and was treated on scene before being transported to a Worcester hospital for further evaluation and treatment. The patient’s condition was not immediately known. The cause of the accident is under investigation by members of the Dudley Police Department.
