Rotary Club teams with artist Renee Dumont for postcard fundraiser
Sales to raise funds to help humanitarian causes locally and internationally.
WEBSTER, Massachusetts (Dec. 10, 2012) — The Rotary Club of Webster-Dudley has teamed up with fellow Rotarian/inspirational contemporary realist oil painter, Renee Dumont, to raise funds to help humanitarian causes locally and internationally. Beginning with this holiday season, the first in an historical series of postcards created from gorgeous oil paintings expressing the appreciation of the Native American heritage here on Webster Lake are being sold. 100% of the postcard sales will be donated by the artist.
The project is sponsored by Nipmuc Liquor’s, Pete’s Tire & Oil, East Main Café’ and Navigator Financial Services along with the artist and Rotarians. The postcards are over-sized and filled with vibrant colors and can be purchased for only $3.00 each at Webster Lake Gifts, The Booklovers Gourmet, East Main Café’ and The Webster Gift Galley or by visiting Dumont’s online galley and asking for more information from the artist on her website. Dumont states that her art allows her to give the gift that keeps on giving.
“This is a small price to pay for the large impact it will have on people's lives,” states Renee. "We as Rotarians have a strong conviction to give back and pay it forward. Our purpose is that we will make a difference in the world. I am honored to participate in this ongoing project with my personal goals as an artist is to create art with the purpose to promote a happier healthier world."
The historical-inspired painting series of Native American appreciation is a gift to the community who enjoy both the beautiful wildlife and fishing that the lake with the longest name in the U.S. offers. The upcoming series of paintings by Dumont will feature elements of historical appreciation combined with the serenity and unity the lake has to offer. Dumont says that she hopes each work of art will make viewers feel truly connected emotionally to their environment.
