WEBSTER - Christine M. (Kender) Rice, 40, of Webster, passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2012 at Hubbard Hospital.


Christine is survived by her husband of seventeen years, Daniel P. Rice; her two sons, Joseph D. and Ryan J. Rice; her daughter, Meghan R. Rice; her parents, Donald P. and Jeanne M. (Girouard) Kender all of Webster; two brothers, Roger P. Kender of Palmer, MA and Craig E. Sargent of Webster; four sisters, Deborah M. Ricciuti and her husband, Michael of Madison, CT, Bonnie Caouette of Webster, Kathleen Gabis and her husband Thomas of Dudley, and Elizabeth Kender of Webster; a mother-in-law, Alma Chase and her husband Warren of Sutton; a father-in-law, Robert Rice and his wife Leah of Oxford; a brother-in-law, Robert Rice, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Worcester; two sisters-in-law, Rose Marie Bednar and her husband Paul of Millbury and Debbie Rice of Douglas; many nieces, nephews and friends.


Christine was born in Worcester and graduated from Bartlett High School. She later attended Quinsigamond Community College. Christine worked for Hanover Insurance as a Service Specialist for ten years. She previously worked for ENSR as Administrative Assistant for seven years. Christine was a member of St. Louis' Church in Webster. She enjoyed gardening but her greatest enjoyment in life was being a wife and especially a mother.


Services for Christine will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake St., Webster. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 2nd from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home. Flowers are welcome.
