E. Marion Moseley, 95
DUDLEY – E. Marion (Williams) Moseley, 95, of Healy Road, died Sunday, October 14, 2012 after a period of declining health. Her husband of 65 years, Charles L. Moseley, died in 2005.
She leaves a son, William C. Moseley and his wife Karen A. (Gawle) Moseley of Woodstock; 4 grandchildren, Sara A. Moseley of Holland, Marc W. Moseley and his wife Meredith of Dudley, Justin Moseley of Frankfort, KY and Ethan A. Moseley and his wife Latoya of Louisville, KY; a great-granddaughter, Ava Moseley; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, John F. Moseley of Frankfort, KY in 2007 and by 2 brothers, Elliott Williams and Arthur Williams, both of Dudley.
She was born in Worcester, the oldest child of Frank and Eva (Hiscox) Williams and lived in Dudley all her life. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1934 and earned her Bachelor Degree in Mathematics from Worcester State College in 1938.
Mrs. Moseley first worked at the American Optical Company in Southbridge in the 1940’s. She taught math at the former Dudley Junior High School from 1958 to 1973 and then at Shepherd Hill Regional High School from 1973 to 1980 when she retired.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Dudley, where she once taught Sunday school. She was the historian of the church and a member of the Ladies Benevolent Society. She was a founding member of the Black Tavern Historical Society and served on its Board of Directors for many years as assistant treasurer. She also wrote numerous articles for the newsletter.
The family would like to thank Elizabeth and Michael Fras of Golden Life Home Care for their kind and compassionate care of Mrs. Moseley for the last 4 years as well as the Visiting Nurse Association of SWC for their help over the years.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 26, at 10:00 AM in the First Congregational Church, 135 Center Road. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Donations in her name may be made to either the Black Tavern Historical Society, PO Box 143, or to the First Congregational Church of Dudley, 135 Center Road, both in Dudley, MA 01571. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
