Kenneth N. Ratcliffe, Sr., 81
CHARLTON / OXFORD – Kenneth N. Ratcliffe, Sr., 81, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at the Overlook Masonic Health Center in Charlton after a long illness. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Eunice J. (Davis) Ratcliffe. He is survived by three children, Sandra F. Daigneault and her companion Dennis Girardin of Oxford, Kenneth N. Ratcliffe Jr. and his wife Robin of Webster, and Neal K. Ratcliffe and his wife Christine of Dudley; a sister, Shirley Ratcliffe of Largo, FL; five grandchildren, Warren White III, Jody Laperle and her husband Peter, Kenneth Ratcliffe III, Amanda Chase and her husband Johnathan, and Ryan Ratcliffe; two great grandchildren, Kaylyn and Rylee Laperle; and several nephews, nieces, and in-laws. He was predeceased by four brothers, Arnold Ratcliffe, Earl J. Ratcliffe, Robert A. Ratcliffe, and George Ratcliffe; and a sister, Nancy Giroux. He was born in Pawtucket, RI, the son of the late Arnold J. and Anne (Jackson) Ratcliffe, and lived in Oxford for over 50 years before moving to Webster for 5 years and Charlton for the past 2 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Ratcliffe worked at Cranston Print Works in Webster for 30 years, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed playing bingo, watching the Red Sox, and spending time with his family. The family would like to thank the nurses on the 3rd floor at Overlook Masonic Home for their exceptional care over the past several years.
Calling hours are Thursday, March 22, 2012, from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Overlook Masonic Chapel, 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton. A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at a later date at North Cemetery, Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
