OXFORD - Mabel G. (Dunaway) Dion, 84, of Nelson St., passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012  in Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge. Her husband, Robert J. Dion died in 1995.

She leaves a son; Robert T. Dion and his wife Dawnelle of Oxford, a daughter, Carolen Mathieu of Worcester, a grandson, Robert J. Dion and a great grandson, Robert B. Dion. Mabel also leaves sisters: Mrtle Elizabeth, Ethel, Dorathy, May Curtis, and Betty Jane, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter; Sondra Oveka who died in 1977, and brothers and sisters; Louis E., Joseph F., Dolly A., William G., and James.

She was born in Salisbury, Tennessee a daughter of Levi E. and Minnie G. (Hubbard) Dunaway. Mabel worked at the former F. w. Woolworth Co., and Shaw Supermarket in Webster before retiring. She enjoyed gardening.

At Mabel’s request, there are no calling hours or services.

The Robert J. Miller-Oxford Funeral Home, 247 Main St., is directing arrangements.
