Dudley's oldest resident 1910-2012

Dudley - Minnie E. (Ellis) Bateman 102, Dudley’s oldest resident, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 29 ,2012  Her husband of 60 years, Raymond L. Bateman died in 1993.

She leaves  one son: Ellis “Cappy” Bateman of Dudley and one daughter: Alice Raye Chase of Haddonfield, NJ . Sister in Law, Helen E. Bateman of Glenburnie, MD;

Four; grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren several nieces, nephews and cousins

She was born in Oxford, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph and  Wilhemina H. (Kurich) Ellis. She Lived most of her life  on Dudley Hill . She graduated  from Becker Jr. College . Minnie served as the Postmaster for 35 years at the Dudley Post Office retiring in 1970.

All are invited to visit with the family for calling hours at the funeral home on Saturday Morning Jan.5, 2013 from 9:30 to 11 AM Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013  at 11AM  in  Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley.  Burial will follow in  Corbin Cemetery, Dudley.
