WEBSTER – Richard D. Chartier, 65, of Webster, died Friday, November 23, 2012 in UMass/Memorial Healthcare University Campus after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 44 years, Suzanne M. (Embair) Chartier; 3 sons, Richard M. & Patricia Chartier, Douglas J. & Tami Chartier all of Webster, Edward G. Chartier of West Boylston; a daughter, Tina M. Chartier of Webster; 12 grandchildren, Philip, Savannah, Christopher, Justin, Ashley, Jasmine, Quentin, Hannah, Elexis, Zachary, Jaden & Destiny; 4 great grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan, Dravyn & Amaya; a brother, Donald Chartier and 2 sisters, Shirley Washburn and Joyce Sergeant all of Claremont, New Hampshire; a brother-in-law, Steven Shays of Spencer; nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

He was born in Newport, New Hampshire a son of Louis P. & Delia (Henault) Chartier.  He was a graduate of Steven’s High School in Claremont, New Hampshire.
 
Mr. Chartier was employed for 38 years as a transfer operator with Leggett & Platt in Oxford, retiring in 2010.
 
He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.  He enjoyed fishing, puzzle books, gardening and playing cribbage.
