WEBSTER - Rita C. (Daniels) Sokolowski, 85, died Monday, March 12, 2012 in Webster Manor after a period of declining health. Her husband of 42 years, Frank V. "Tuffy" Sokolowski, died in 2006.

She leaves a daughter, Donna E. Belanger of Webster; 2 grandsons, Frank Belanger of Webster and Tony Belanger and his wife Kerry of Thompson, CT; a great granddaughter Arianna; a sister, Ruth "Putsie" Hughes and her husband John of Webster; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Constance "Connie" Malboeuf, Jane Dardeen and Theresa "Terry" Gignac, and by 2 brothers, Roger and Robert Daniels.

She was born in Framingham, a daughter of Benjamin and Ruth (Bigget) Daniels and lived in Webster most of her life.

Mrs. Sokolowski was a bottom cementer at local shoe manufacturing companies, including B & W Footwear, Sandlerette, Bates Shoe and Bentley Shoe. She retired in 1969.

She liked to go shopping. She most enjoyed spending time with her family.

Services will be held privately. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
