Sally M. Chomes, 58

OXFORD – Sally M. (LaFlamme) Chomes, 58, of Main Street, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at home surrounded by her family after a long illness.  She leaves behind her husband of 41 years, Nicholas G. Chomes Jr. of Oxford; her daughter, Bonnie L. Chomes and her fiancé Brian Parent of Oxford; her son, Nicholas G. Chomes III and his wife Mandy of Northbridge; her brother, Donald P. LaFlamme and his wife Mamie of Chuluota, FL; her sister, Shirley A. Ryznal and her husband Philip of North Oxford; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Joan LaFlamme.  She was born in Leicester on July 13, 1953, the daughter of the late Walter C. and Helen C. (Gallant) LaFlamme, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford.

Sally graduated from Oxford High School in 1971 and attended Dudley Secretarial Institute as well as completing courses at the Institute of Children’s Literature and Assumption College.  She worked at Ryznal Associates for several years and R.H. White Construction in Auburn for 14 years as an executive assistant.

Sally was a 3rd degree black belt in Martial Arts and enjoyed teaching children’s classes.  She was an active member of the Nemeneseck Gun Club, and enjoyed decorating cakes, crocheting, and reading.  She was a loving wife and mother.

A funeral will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford.  Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford.  Calling hours are Sunday, April 1, 2012, from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Care Alternatives Hospice, 181 Cedar Hill Rd., Marlborough, MA  01752, or to the ALS Association, 27001 Agoura Rd., Suite 250, Calabasas Hills, CA 91301.  www.paradisfuneralhome.com
