Sylvia Lucille (Lovett) Lewandowski, 90
OXFORD -- Sylvia Lucille (Lovett) Lewandowski, 90, died peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2012, at Webster Manor Nursing Home surrounded by family.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Lewandowski of Thompson, CT, Jane Dean, wife of Jerry Pellegrino of Framingham, and Judith Lewandowski and her fiancé Ken Leighton of Oxford; four sons, Stephen and his wife Kathy of Sandia Park, NM, Jonathan and his wife Mary Ellen of Winchendon, James and his wife Melissa of Oxford, Joel and his wife Penny of Natick; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Lucille was predeceased by her husband Thaddeus S. Lewandowski, who died in 1977; three sisters, Louise, Barbara and Ruth; and four brothers, Howard, Raymond, Norman and Robert.
Born in Oxford, she was the daughter of the late Walter A. and Katherine (Wheeler) Lovett and lived there all of her life. After graduating from Salter Secretarial School, she worked at Wyman Gordon and the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and in later years, enjoyed playing cards at the Oxford Senior Center.
She was an avid Red Sox fan, loved to play cribbage, crossword puzzles and was noted for her high scores in Scrabble. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and creating many beautiful quilts and afghans for family members.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at the First Congregational Church, 355 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Friday, March 9, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.
